my SS necro
I was hoping you veterans of the N/Me profession could give me some feedback on my build. It seems to be working pretty good, but I want to know what you guys think about it.
attributes
curses: 12+3+1
soul reaping: 6+1
domination: 11
skills
soul barbs
SS (of course)
empathy
insideous parasite/price of failure
backfire
cry of frustration
arcane echo
rez/?
For a weapon, i'm using the pvp only weapons and focus item that subtract to casting/recharge time for curse spells and i have +15/-1regen energy for my second weapons slot. The one issue I do run into a lot is energy conservation. With all those hexes going off, I'm not sure weather to use the recharge or the +energy . Other than that, it seems to work pretty well. So what do you think?

If things are dying constantly then +energy is great, but if that is not the case go for the recharge.

I never use SS without stacking Parasitic Bond on it immediately afterwards as a good cover hex.
The best weapon ive found to use as an SS nec in PvP is the collectors curse staff in the desert along with +5 armor and +5 energy mods. But you mentioned using PvP only characters so I guess thats not an option for you?

i'd drop soul barbs for some form of energy managment. if this is pve i'd still drop it for shadow of fear or enfeebling blood. soul barbs looks good on paper but there are other needs besides damage. SS will do plenty of damage for you.

I agree, Soul barbs isnt that useful when compared to the unholy devestation unleashed by a few well-placed SSes :P Empathy/insidieus parasite are useful for the wars that try to stroll up on you and backfire for the casters, I played this build a few times, almost exact and found that although its quite fun, it diversifies a little too much, you basically use this build to put pressure on the other team but not really take them down, so if they have a good monk or two you're pretty much useless. Remove Backfire for Awaken the Blood. Place in Descerate Enchantments for Empathy. Get rid of Soul Barbs for Defile Flesh. Remove Insideous Parasite/Price of failure for Parasitic Bond to cover Spiteful Spirit and Defile flesh.
